Lover Dee to release album on 20th June

Ugandans celebrate Martyr’s Day

The dates might be different, but the Ugandans abroad surely remember their Martyr’s Day. In my early years, Martyr’s day was always a big issue for me coz we would always go to Namugongo actually that was the only day we could leave the house to have some fun, these days it could pass un-noticed. Here back home, its celebrated on the 3rd June while in Boston, United States of America it’s celebrated from the 14th June to the 16th June. This year round they are holding an Music Festival that will include some of our own Ugandan artists like Chagga, Priscilla Kalibbala, The Amarula Family and many more. In a phone interview with one of the organizers, “We would like to use this opportunity for people to come together and experience their faith in very vibrant way”

Gospel jokes

At the Wedding

Attending a wedding for the first time, a little girl whispered to her mother, "Why is the bride dressed in white?"
"Because white is the color of happiness, and today is the happiest day of her life."
The child thought about this for a moment, then said "So why is the groom wearing black?"

Late for Bible Class

A little girl, dressed in her Sunday best, was running as fast as she could, trying not to be late for Bible class. As she ran she prayed, "Dear Lord, please don't let me be late! Dear Lord, please don't let me be late!"
While she was running and praying, she tripped on a curb and fell, getting her clothes dirty and tearing her dress. She got up, brushed herself off, and started running again. As she ran she once again began to pray, "Dear Lord, please don't let me be late...But please don't shove me either!"

Uganda needs radio hall of fame.

It’s a  fact that Uganda’s radio industry has brown from scratch over the years .This you can tell from the programming quality on air today, the different radio promotions and of course the different talents that have been discovered in the industry over the years. At many luganda speaking radio stations theatre actors have extended their craft to the radio too. Take for example on stations like Buganda kingdom’s CBS FM, Super FM, Dembe fm and Radio Simba. Over the years some radio pioneers such as Yusuf EE has since moved on to television(NTV) where he hosts he a sports programme.

K-Plug rises musically high

What else would you expect when the award winning producer Henry Kiwuuwa (reigning pearl of Africa music awards producer of the year) blesses a record with his magical touch and sensitive ear to hit songs? Nothing but an exquisite product. And that exactly is what the track “Ndabada” is about. “Ndabada” was recently released by the UK based Ugandan recording artist Noah Wakisadha a.k.a K-plug alongside his partner Asiimwe Innocent a.k.a.

Kiwani: The Movie Premieres in Kampala - By Olive Eyotaru Yemima

From naive university girls to corporate personalities, it is a wave of greed, lies and romance, all entangled in a web orchestrated by the bafere (as conmen are commonly called in Uganda). Ugandans have a way of creating slang. These days, it usually, starts with songs or movies. When Bobi Wine, a Ugandan artist, used the word 'kiwani' in his hit song by the same title to describe the deceitful ways of many Ugandans, people across the country immediately and practically adopted kiwani into their vocabulary. From school going kids, politicians, to many an old man deep in Uganda's rural setting, kiwani has surely been integrated into the daily lingo of many Ugandans.

“Amaaso go” by Engineer Katerega

The flamboyant recording artist Engineer Katerega has recently made a follow up to his numerous hits with a new r’n’b song titled “Amaaso Go”(your eyes)The song is a song about courtship and love quite a common phenomenon about today's society. Unlike his last efforts like “Egudeolubege” that centres more on the afro-beat style. “Amaaso go” was directed more to his urban market "I wanted to reach out to my urban market and also widen my fan base and besides I am a versatile and experimental recording artist who's never afraid to try out new challenges" says Katerega.  The song boasts of a catchy hook guaranteed to win many hearts. That's if you love wittily informative love ballads.

The Bebe Cool, Peter Miles and Jenkins jokes

As always yours truly “tha …” is an outgoing character that loves socializing and communicating. Last Tuesday was no difference at about 9PM I thought; now where can a brother go for a very cold one. When I pursued the archives of my Medula Oblongatta I remembered that Steak Out always blazes on most Tuesdays. I thought about it and decided to reach there and socialize.
