1 on 1 with Bbaale Aloysuis

The year 2008 has been a busy year for Bbaale. Bbaale shares with Music Uganda and all his fans moments in 2008 and his hopes for 2009.

MU: How has the year 2008 been musically for you?
BA: The year 2008 musically was a successful year!  I managed to release my first video album containing 8 songs. And you can watch some of these videos on You Tube, if you click on; www.youtube.com/BbaaleT

MU: You have done a couple of tours this year. Is there any remarkable event that happened during any of these tours?
BA: I’ve been on tour in several European cities, but the most remarkable one was in Stockholm when I performed alongside with other artists like Betty Mpologoma, DJ. Michael, Ngoni, and others on Easter 2008. I liked the mood of Ugandans in Stockholm.

MU: Have you done any collaborations with any artists this year and who are they?
BA: Yes but I would like to keep his name in secret!

MU:  What inspires you to write a song?
BA: It depends on the situation. I write songs according to my situation, for example when I got problems with my wife, I wrote "Abalungi Ndagala Nnamu!" When I paid a lot of Taxes I wrote "Ngenze mu Space!" etc...!

MU: What challenges have you faced in your recording career this year?
BA: I faced some challenges this year for example one Ugandan decided to take me in court because he saw her face on You Tube in my video, while I was performing LIVE in Munich on Uganda’s Independence day celebrations! This case is still in court, and I’m expected to appear in court in Munich, soon or later! You can see this video on;http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5M0HbZU5eCw

MU: So were you for Barak Obama or John McCain?
BA: I was 100% for Obama but unfortunately before even Obama coming to power, slowly by slowly I started to loose hope in him! The main reason is that, the day he won the election, I sent him my account number to put on something, but up to now there is nothing Obama has paid on my account! I don’t expect any different between him and the whites!

MU: By the way are you planning any African tours soon?
BA: Not exactly now, but later.

MU:  How do you manage to balance your time between family and music as a career?
BA: To me music comes first, and later the family!!! It sounds funny but unfortunately that’s who I am!

MU: Besides doing music does Bbaale watch any sports?
BA: I like football, but I prefer to hear much about our teams in Uganda like Express FC, Villa FC, Buikwe FC, e.t.c...! Instead of being a fan of Arsenal, Manchester United.... and so on!

MU: What do you do before any stage performance?
BA: It depends where, and whom I’m going to perform with, sometimes I need to refresh myself, to be fit on stage!

MU: What cd's have you been listening to?
BA: A lot of cds’ from Uganda, but Geofrey Lutaaya, Ronald Mayinja, and Mesach Semakula, are one of my favorites.

MU: How does Bbaale’s spend his leisure time?
BA: I like traveling and I’ve traveled a lot in different parts of the world! I thank God for that. But there is only one place I prefer the best for me to be, you can get this answer when you click on; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5P6jHuaf714
