Omuana Isaacs

Meet the Ugandan star based in Germany.  Omuana Isaacs was born on the 25th April, raised by a single mom Azidah Nanyonga. He attended schools like Mengo primary, Namilyango College and Rubaga Boys School.

Isaacs started this musical journey before he could even tighten his own shoes. At the age of nine, Omuana joined the Namirembe St Pauls Cathederal chior where he sang Soprano & won prizes. Later in Namilyango College he hooked up with Shanks ViViD the then of Capital Radio and made trips around Uganda together with the late Menton Summer, Orlando, the Gents, All in one, Chameleone, Bebe Cool and many more.

At this time Omuana together with Geoff Chagga, Richard Baseka , Martin and Mike Kyemwa formed the Extra GRIM. Which was refered to as the most beloved boyz group at the time because of thier hit song "SAUDA" a song that was written by a group member to his girlfriend.

With time, Isaacs realised it was too much of Kareoke in the gruop and was only that he decided to reach out for more life on stage. He was introduced to the legend Tony Ssengo of the BADINDAZ band who inspired the youngstar so much but still was restricted to singing other people's songs like UB 40, Bob Marley, Lionel Richie and the like..

Omuana travelled with the badindaz band that comprised of Robert Ssegawa(Bibiyana), Titi(Makanika wange) , Prossy Kankunda(Akalulu), Joe Takuba(Onsuza mungato) and many more from clubs to bars, Discos and Nightcafes.

However the band was yet to suffer a breakdown following the Band leader Tony Ssengo's persistent sickness and finally his death in 1998 (R.I.P).

Omuana Isaacs was then taken over by C.J. Ssenkubuge alias SIASA who was then reforming the famous Pride Band after its patron Fred Maiso of Kimuli kya roza fame, went solo.

In the Marbles Pride band, it was here that Isaacs first sang his own written songs 'Tondeka, Omutima gwange and 'Naayimba ntya' with the help of a close pal (Nathan Bwerenga). Omuana performed with Bernad Munyigwa, Med Ssali , Chance Nalubega & many others it was here that he he rubbed shoulders with prominents like Mzee Elly Wamala, Late Herman basudde, late Sarah Birungi, Late Carol Nakimera, Paul Kafeero and many more till he left Uganda in 1999 for Europe.

Omuana Isaacs is a Ugandan singer based in Munich, Germany. He has been in the music industry for quite sometime although not yet commercially recognized. He has done collaborations with other Ugandan musicians  like Bbaale Aloysius also based in Germany, Jose Chameleon and they did a song called “Ndayira” and late last year he  teamed up with long time friends; Kuklee, Myco Chris and Chagga and did a song called “Nkwagala|. Right now he is in Bass Cleff  Studio, Duisburg working on a full reggae album which will be out early next year. All song are written and arranged by Omuana Isaacs, programmed and mastered by probably Uganda's greatest sound engineer ever, Vincent Othieno.
