The Heineken full moon
From the dawn of time people have used the light and energy of the full moon to create, embrace and enjoy the beauty of life. The original full moon parties started in the 1960's on the island called Koh Phangan in Thailand but have now have become a worldwide phenomenon. In Thailand thousands of tourists attend the full moon party every month for a night of wild partying under the bright sky. The beach party atmosphere is enhanced by electronic dance music, fire shows and the myth that partying under full moon brings out the wild side in people.
Now it is time for Uganda to have an experience of their own as Heineken and Talent Africa bring the highly anticipated Heineken Full Moon on June 22nd at The Bay in Munyonyo. The event features internationally acclaimed DJ Drazen from the 6AM Entertainment group from Kenya alongside DJ Global and DJ RPM from Uganda. There will also be a live performance by the Human Drum who is flying in all the way from India. The Human Drum tours international music festivals all over the world and is famous for playing more than 50 different types of drums at the same time. Under the full moon the organizers promise to create a mouthwatering mix of innovation, creativity, lights and music to create a party atmosphere never seen before in East Africa.
Tickets for the Heineken Full Moon are 40,000 shililngs and on sale at Uganda Wines and Spirits Shop in Garden City Mall. A ticket includes transport from city centre to the venue and 2 complimentary Heineken. This is the first of a series of destination parties that will bring unique, well produced state of the art parties to unusual venues all over the country. The event is sponsored by Talent Africa, Capital FM and Heineken.

One Night At Kwivuga; Poetry, music, and art on one stage
This KWIVUGA June Edition will take Kinetic Entertainment from the stage onto the map. Imagine Klear Kut (Navio, The Mith & JB), Ruyonga, Yung Mulo, Patrobas and DJ Karo ALL on One Stage!!
Join us at Gatto Matto and get to listen to your favorite poets as we enjoy lyrical entertainment from Kinetic's hiphop and dancehall stars.
This event is powered by Kinetic Management Group and sponsored by Heineken
Over powering cheers drown out the shouts and clapping. The speaker stands alone on stage, soft yellow light pouring over her. Her work is done, she has spoken her words and the response proves their worth. A powerful, comical take on one-night stands has won Jamain Nada the love of a rather large crowd. It was the first Kwivuga I ever attended. Billed as a poetry session and a performance platform for artistes; especially young upcoming talent, it happens every last Thursday of the month at GattoMatto in the Bugolobi suburb of Kampala city. Musicians provide the interlude to the real draw of the night, well for me anyway, the poets who use their literary prowess to leave their souls on the stage. Shamefully, this was only at the anniversary celebration of a year's worth of poetry recitals; and what a show it was. Unlike so many similar set-ups before, it has proved to be more than just a passing fad on the Ugandan entertainment scene.

Police Raid Nakumatt Over Pirated Music
Business at Nakumatt shopping centre came to a standstill for about two hours on Thursday evening as the Police and court bailiffs seized merchandise over illegal sale of local artiste, Nince Henry's music. The Police allege that authorities at Nakumatt were selling Henry's music without his consent or knowledge. They took CDs, a plasma TV set, a DVD player and a sub-woofer as exhibits. It is also alleged that the shopping centre has been running a promotion where, whoever buys a Hisense Plasma screen takes home the singer's CD for free. "I have never released an album. These guys just put together my songs and were selling an album, which I am yet to make. This is too bad because as the owner of the music, I am getting nothing," an angry Henry said.
